To view our events for October, please visit the Activities page. We have a forum set up for Horror Movie Night, so please vote on the movies you would like to watch. For this month's minutes, please visit the Meeting Minutes forum.
Don't forget, this Friday we have a business meeting in room 111, at 3pm.
After the meeting, a LAN party will be held in the commons from 6pm onward (BYOC). Entry fee is $10 for pizza and drinks.
Also, after the meeting, there will be an extra special book sale. For the books from last week's book sale, there will be a special 5 books for $1. If you were unable to attend the book sale, or wasn't sure if you wanted a certain book or not, this is your chance to get a great deal. This will be directly after the meeting, once everything has been cleared out of room 111, and will be held in the ACM/UPE offices.
The Programming Contest is this Friday, September 21st at 3 pm in Maes Room 211. There is no registration required. However, you must be currently registered with our ACM chapter. I will have a list of all members and their registration status. The membership fee is only $5, so if you are not a member, or are unsure of your membership status, bring $5. We will have membership forms available at the Programming Contest.
You will have the choice to use C++ or Java to answer the questions. The software for C++ is pC^2.
Due to many unavoidable circumstances, we were not able to have our meeting on schedule, and it will be post-poned. We will meet on Friday, October 5th, in Maes room 111 at 3pm. This will be our normal meeting time: the first friday of each month. Unfortunately, this will be our first meeting, and not our second.
The local programming contest will be Friday, September 21st, at 3 pm. The lab room will be announced. This will be the qualification stage to go to the national programming contest, which may be November 3rd (it has not been officially announced). Any person who is qualified will go through training sessions with Dr. Qi on Fridays, around 3 or 4 pm. To participate in the programming contest, you must have a current ACM membership, and have at least a 2.0 GPA.
Currently, we are in need of a Student Government Association Representative. This person must have at least a 2.5 GPA, and be available to attend the SGA meetings every Tuesday at 3pm on the 8th floor of the library. You must be able to attend every meeting. This is required for us to get co-sponsorship for the Spring Banquet. If you are willing to commit to this position, please e-mail us.
There is a schedule conflict with Mondays at 3pm. Are there any conflicts with Fridays at 3pm? Remember, this is one meeting a month. If we do Fridays, we will have our meeting next Friday, since this Friday is too soon. Please reply ASAP.
